A simple gift of US$40 provides the basic needs and education of a young monk for a month; or worming medicine, a mosquito net for summer and a woollen blanket for winter.
The Monks’ Welfare Fund is sponsored
by the Chokgyur Lingpa Foundation. The funds help support more than 80 monks in two monasteries: Pal Do‑Ngak Nyida Zungdrel Mindrol Norbuling Monastery (aka Vajra Varahi Monastery) in Chapagaon, Lalitpur in the south of the Kathmandu Valley, and Riwoche Monastery in Boudhanath, Kathmandu. Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche oversees both of the monasteries and their little monks.
With so many needy young monks to look after and the overwhelming overflow of new monks that beseech the monasteries for help each year, it is impossible to sustain and meet all ends without the help from others.
